 Promoted  to technical liaison for the Office of the CIO and the IT service provider. Authored, and evaluated compliance to, IT Polices & Standards and recommended waiver requests. Provided corporate compliance and IT Security requirements for the design and implementation of the corporate AD/Exchange and WAN infrastructure. Championed the adoption of secure wireless email across the corporation. Designed and supported the implementation of a corporate Extranet environment.

  •  I-06– Responsible for the architectural review and recommendation of the Wide Area Network re-architecture and transition from Sprint ATM to AT&T MPLS; generated a savings of over $30M per year, hard and soft costs.
  • Shared Infrastructure Internet Gateway– Reduced the number of company Internet Access points from 13 to 2, minimizing exposure to the internet and enhancing security.
  • AD/Exchange 2003– Provided IT Security requirements for the re-architecture to ensure compliance with ITAR/EAR  and adherence to the Special Security Agreement.
  • SharePoint – Designed, developed and maintained the corporate IT Security and CIO Council sites

Administered the company computer systems and Local and Wide Area networks. IT Systems lead in the design, implementation and vendor selection of the Line of Business email system and upgrade, fiber based, to the local area network. Assisted in the due diligence for various acquisitions and supported the integrations. Designed and conducted training sessions on employee’s responsibility, specifically on ITAR/EAR and SSA, with respect to Internet email.

  • AD/Exchange 2000 ArchitectureUnified the UK and US under a single AD/Exchange infrastructure leading to increased productivity and savings of approximately $2M/year
  • I-99– Wide Area Network, designed and established corporate WAN based on Sprint ATM

Managed all VAX/VMS and Windows NT Systems and provided both Operations support for the LAN and for GEC Marconi North America WAN. Support a Spares and Repairs system used by multiple airport locations. 

Member Technical Staff (1992 – 1994)

Lead Systems manager for the Lear Astronics VAX/VMS computer systems. Implemented MRP II (MACPAC/D) and financial (Deltek) applications, replacing a mainframe system.

Software Engineer (1980 – 1992)

Software engineer working on avionics programs for RAF aircraft. Subsequently moved in to Information Systems administrating and writing software for VAX/VMS systems as well as administering the Local Area Network.

PROJECTS ADDENDUM

  • Buy Site – piloted then implemented an electronic catalog for the purchase of IT Services.
  • Electronically Stored Information (ESI), email archiving– Identified and piloted an email archiving capability in order to be able to comply with the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure.
  • Enterprise Environment– authored the terms of reference governance document
  • Extranet – designed and implemented a secure infrastructure for businesses to deploy services that require collaboration with customers, suppliers and vendors whilst ensuring compliance with ITAR/EAR and security requirements.
  • Line of Business LAN fiber backbone upgrade– participated in the design, vendor selection and implementation. Increase in reliability and productivity savings of  +$900K
